Beyond Writing

Outside writing, I'm much more than a literary fiction author or fantasy author. You'll often find me cooking and experimenting with new recipes, diving into language learning apps, or getting lost on a ramble through fields and quiet woods. I enjoy discovering historic pubs and local cafes with my wife, connecting with their stories much as I do with characters and settings. Judo is another passion; the art of technique, quick reflexes, and getting thrown around the mat is a great way to make friends and vent your frustration. Finally, I have the strange habit of hanging around graveyards, basking in the history of the churches as well as the stories of those buried there.

For me, life beyond writing brings fresh experience and inspiration, shaping everything I share through Mark Hamm Writing.
